Jo's Candies is committed to our customers and the visitors to our web site, to keep any personal information which you may supply confidential. As part of this commitment, we wish to offer you the following explanations as to how your data is protected.

Data Collection
To process your order, we need to record certain information which you provide to us via the Internet such as your name, shipping/billing address, contact information, the items you are purchasing and your credit card information. Once your order is shipped and credit card charge processed, that information is erased from our computers.

ONLY IF YOU WISH, AND AS A CONVENIENCE TO MAKE RETURN SHOPPING EASIER FOR YOU, you can choose to have your name and address stored “on your own computer” using a "cookie." Storing such information is not necessary, however, to shop with Jo’s, and no other information is recorded in that cookie.

Email Address
If you provide it when placing an order, we will add your Email address to our private mailing list and notify you of occasional special offerings via Email. We do not share or sell this list to anyone else. You may request to have your name removed (opt-out) from those mailings at any time. Jo’s does not purchase mailing lists of Email addresses nor add anyone to our mailing list who has not purchased from us in the past or signed up on our website to be included on our mailing list.

Safe Transactions
To keep your information safe, we employ standard industry techniques to safeguard the confidentiality of your personally identifiable information, including Secure Socket Layers (SSL), security codes, and firewalls. Further, please know that Jo's and its employees treat customer information as an asset that must be protected against loss and unauthorized access. 

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is the industry standard for secure online commerce transactions. It scrambles, or encrypts your personal information, such as your credit card number, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. Further, your information is collected on a web site that is certified as a “Thawte Secure Site”.

Also for your protection, all charges against your credit card are first verified manually. Then, it is submitted to/processed by Cedars Bank of California using encrypted technology.
